Progress
First I have to say, that it is hard to believe that today is May 1, since it is snowing outside the window. Yesterday was a good day. My mom slept a lot of the day but she was sleeping much more soundly because she was more comfortable. It was good she was sleeping most of the day since she couldn't eat or drink anything until they put in a Hickman catheter so it is easier to administer the chemo. That 4 p.m. procedure went really well and actually has already been a blessing since they can administer the IV and draw blood through the Hickman as well - less poking and prodding. My mom doesn't like all the extra tubing that is now hanging outside her chest but is also excited that it will be easier to administer the chemo next time. Her sodium levels were low again but otherwise her blood work looks good and the doctors are pleased by her progress. She was able to take a few steps on her own and was doing her exercises. Her spirits are good. We have let a few family members who were in town for the funeral come visit since they were only here for a few days. While my mother enjoyed their brief visits, she felt bad because she would fall asleep during them. I asked my mom if she was ready for any more visitors and she said that she would like to wait a couple days until she is stronger. It is absolutely wonderful to see her progress. She has enjoyed the cards you've sent and the comments you've posted and wanted me to tell you thanks and to let you know how truly blessed she feels.

Please tell Aunt Dorothy that we are thinking about her and praying for, a lot. And thank you for keeping us updated on what's happening. I think it makes us much less anxious when we don't have to wait for phone calls! Please give her a hug and a kiss from us. Love, Kevin, Chris, Meg and Nora (St. Louis Feely Family)
Sorry we didn't know until Donna Marvel sent an email about your Mom, please let her know we are thinking of her & praying for her during this challenging time.
